This article on Career advice for students is going to be different from others. I will be sharing with you all what I have seen and what I have gone through . I will be brutally honest.

You won’t find typical career advice rather information about various situation that students face.

If you follow whatever I say here(career advice and life advice), trust me you will find yourself in a much better position.

MARKS MANIA

In some education system , marks is all what matters, at least this is what thrives in Indian pedagogy. Children from an early age of 11 are measured by how much percentage they obtain.

Kids are sent to tutions, their parents fuck them up if they get less marks. SERIOUSLY, ARE MARKS SO IMPERATIVE TO GET SUCCESS IN LIFE??

Yeah marks are everything in India since you get a good college==> good job. At the end i will Bust this myth about college!!! Keep reading!!

This kind of ambiance prevails a lot in middle class households. Because , parents from such class, know one thing: Study well ==> take a job.

Its not their fault , as they live in a society where Engineering ,MBA and medical colleges are a hype . Also when parents are are financially weak, so their opinion on career advice seems inevitable.

I am not saying these things are bad, but very few asks their child ,”do you really like this ?

This period of 11 -15 years , is so vital. Here the kid must learn as much about the myriad opportunities that exists. They must be enrolled in sports activities, personality development sessions for their proper growth and learning.

They must be given books to read ,not always school textbooks instead books written by respected persona’s like APJ Abdul Kalam, books on personality development , books which give them knowledge , books which expand their creativity and tech them skills which really count .

But what are students taught from class 5 -10?They are taught how to mug up answers, how to get high marks, useless things which has no practical worth. This is the fucking reality .

MY ADVICE TO YOUNG SCHOOL GOING STUDENTS

career advice articles

Look at the most successful people . When they started to work on their dreams?? Most of them were below 20’s. They were DREAMERS. Lets discuss some examples:

Richard Branson was only 15 , when he saw that there were no good student magazine during 60’s., so he dreamt of making his magazine. He started working, dropped out of school, and after years of work, He became a Billionaire.

He is one of myriad of people who did what they liked. Others include Steve Jobs, Bill Gates ,Elon musk AND MANY MORE. MY point is not to encourage you to drop out of school or entice you about billionaires.

Rather i want to tell you are in your school days , your job is not only to prepare for exams and play. Your job which no one will tell you , is to figure out what activities excites you, what you want to become ??? Whats your PASSION??

How will you figure out ?? Because most parents will teach their kid to only study. Education is very important but the education which you get in schools won’t help you in the real world, the world which you will step when you would have graduated..

BEST CAREER /LIFE ADVICE

career advice articles

I would say , when you are in your school days, you need to learn a lot . You need to gain knowledge. You need to gain experience . It may sound like a lot, but in today’s internet epoch it nothing big.You will get to know career advice from yourself.

See most people will say work on your passion. Wrong Advice!!! This doesn’t apply to school going students as most of them still don’t know their passion.

DON’T FOLLOW YOUR PASSION. FOLLOW OPPORTUNITY!!!

Heard about Lionel Messi ? Was he a born footballer? Ofcorse not. How the hell he got to know that he was so good at football. He first tried playing football and gradually improved himself, joined La Masia, from there to became world’s best player.

You need to do the same thing. See what opportunities are there around you!! Start doing work.

For example: Since internet is easily accessible, lets say.. start learning about online business, web development, etc.

Or if you want to learn dancing , just do it. You like painting, start painting. Learn from websites like skillshare.com to learn skills. Start reading books which will help you to gain knowledge.

career advice; try one opportunity at a time, and go in depth to master it.

OPPORTUNITY ==> PASSION : Best Career advice you will get

You need to do something to figure out if its your passion. You need to give time to that ‘one thing’.

My point is don’t let others decide what you want to do in life!! Listen to everyone’s suggestions but decide at last what you want to do.

Your parents will always want you to live a secure life, but what if you don’t really want to do what parents are saying you to follow!! SECURE LIFE IS NOT A GREAT LIFE. ITS BORING.

LIVE LIFE ON YOUR OWN TERMS

I see students of class 6th/7th going to coaching institutes and preparing for competitive exams !!! So are they preparing or are they forced to prepare?? Do they really want to become Engineers/Doctors/CA’s?? Or is it the dream of their parents??

This is what frightens me.Why can’t parents let their kids decipher what they want to do with their lives?

Parents should show their kids the plethora of opportunities they have. They should encourage them to start taking actions and gain practical knowledge.

You need to figure out what you want to achieve and accordingly take a decison when you leave college, and it won’t be a problem even if your choice turns out be wrong!! Since you have a lot of time!!

THINK IN YOUR 9TH / 10TH / 11TH AND TAKE ACTIONS

But don’t do 9th/10th/11th/12th without any plan for your future. Decide what you wan’t to learn, no matter if it is of a different stream and choose a particular institution.

career advice for students
career advice: Think about your life and future.

Many students do 12th without any plan , and end up being at a wrong place ,wasting money and time. Never do this mistake else you will be caught by the randomness of life.

DON’T leave 12th to do Graduation for the sake for it. Many do this, and they are Dumb. you are not dumb, If you chose not to be.

Start working on your goals from 10th. yeah , I now YOU ARE IN YOUR TEENS , YOU WANT TO ENJOY THIS TIME. YOU WANT TO HAVE RELATIONSHIPS AND DO OTHER TEEN STUFF. I UNDERSTAND , I HAVE BEEN THROUGH YOUR age.

But let me tell you one thing that will always be true.

And if you work on your goals way before, you get leverage. The leverage here is the time. Your handwork will get compounded, and you will have done a lot before completing 12th.

Lets say you want to go in the field of robotics.Start learning and doing stuff related to it. Do research on what you can do with robotics as your career.

Keep on learning and chose a particular institution/course after 12th. The best part is you change robotics to something else if you figure out its not for you. Think what are fields you can learn about , it can be

Photography, Dancing, app development, NEET preparation etc. Whatever it may be , the point is find a goal and work hard.

Investing in yourself, books,Knowledge,Courses are the best things you can do during School days . TRUST ME , DOING THIS WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

Don’t adopt any wrong habits like masturbation, drugs . Work on yourself for coming 8 years and the rest of your life will be full of peace and money.

YOU ARE NOW IN COLLEGE/OR GOING TO JOIN COLLEGE/

So , How are You? Are you in a place where you wanted to be? If Yes, Congrats , else ,NO PROBLEM.

You ended up in the wrong place as you never thought about your life, Never pondered about your career. isn’t it? That’s what you should have done in school years.

Maybe there was no one to guide you. I Understand . But you still have a lot of time. you are still in 20’s.

Best thing is that you can still change your destiny, always.

Everyone’s Timing is different.

career advice for students
career/life advice:You are your own competition. Improve yourself.

This means , there is no age to get a job, to marry, to die!! Our society has preached default numbers which have been stored in our mind as truth. But its a fucking lie.

Even if you are 25 and broke, No fucking problem , you can change your situation, this is what Mark Manosn did. He started blogging that is tried an opportunity, worked hard and got success.Since then he has written 2 Bestseller books!!

When did Jack Ma became a billionaire? He was above 40. When did Mel Robbins became a Billionaire? She was more than 40. Most of you won’t be knowing these 2 billionaire. Am I right??

I am not disrespecting you, I want you to know your current position and inspire you to work on yourself.

See our society has imposed certain rules on us. That we need to do this before this age and on and on. That is Crap. Some people get success faster , some don’t. Jack ma was rejected by 30 companies, including KFC.

Every failure is a step closer to success. When you fail you fall forward. So don’t be afraid of trying out new things an plans.

HAVE YOU ENDED UP IN THE WRONG PLACE??

Yes, then You need to try out a lot of things , rather than comparing your life with others. There is no point in comparing. work on yourself. Everyone’s timing is different. Some get success faster as they have put more work than others

See, college life will give you a lot of time, use this time wisely. You wanted to become a social worker? Go join an NGO. You wanted to become a photographer, but you are doing Engineering. Go join a club/class of photography and work your ass off. Go find work. Work on your passion .

WHAT IF YOU DON’T HAVE ANY PASSION/ NOT HAVING FUN WITH YOUR PASSION

Remember : OPPORTUNITY ==> PASSION. Take your passion with you everywhere. Don’t miss out on opportunities. You never know that opportunity might become your passion. SO TRY IT OUT.

AS simple as that. Even if you are not liking your graduation and you don’t see your future in it, you can still do meaningful work during graduation years. Stop blaming your luck or Parents.

Do something . Take the first step for achieving your goals . Things will fall in your place.

Take responsibility of your life. Your parents have done a lot for you. Figure out what you want to become and work in that niche.

Lets say You want to become an IAS officer. Start preparation and give the exam when you will be in your final year of graduation. You can change your life because you are the author of your life.

MAKE NO EXCUSES . FUCK EXCUSES AND DO WORK. TAKE ACTIONS.

‘YOU WILL’ ONLY WHEN YOU BELIEVE ‘YOU CAN’

How did Stan lee became a movie produce, comic writer? When he was around 20’s , he decided to join in this field, and for that he somehow got into movie production house and worked his way up.

He created opportunities for himself. So why can’t You?? Opportunities are galore, first find what you need to try out.

Whatever you want to do, their is still time for it. Its never to late specially when it come to you career even if you are in a wrong place.

Have Belief in yourselves. You will have to manage your current studies with other works.

I have been in your position , and it sucks. I understand. You have to take action. You won’t settle for mediocrity ,Promise me. Just do it.Don’t be afraid to start.

ARE YOU A DROPOUT??

Oh , Hi then ,If you are have taken a drop. And who the hell coined the word ‘Dropout’ for putting some years into some serious preparation for an exam.

You see, our society is so fucking pessimistic when it comes to doing something different or when something doesn’t follow ‘TYPICALITY’. That’s how DROP was coined.

AS IF YOUR LIFE WILL GO LOW AND LOW, SINCE YOU HAVE INVESTED SOME YEARS OF LIFE INTO SOMETHING ELSE RATHER THAN GRADUATING.

Ok lets talk about something better. See ,i WILL call you all ‘Achievers ‘since not many ‘ students and parent have the guts to spent at least one year for preparation after 12th.

CAREER ADVICE TO ACHIEVERS

SO , You must be wondering what the hell I will do if I am not able to clear the exam and get a seat for the course??

You feel fucked when you think about this. And also you feel fucked on why am I felling Fucked!!

See, Its no problem in thinking about what could go wrong , but you need to do more than feelin fucked.

First give everything you have for your preparation. Give your best . This will make sure you won’t have any feeling of regret no matter what is the result. This will help you a lot.

Feeling of regret sucks and make sure you are away from it. But don’t harm your health in pursuit of bigger goal . This will backfire you, as when you are healthy, you will perform at your peak.

So many achievers don’t give a damn to health and sleep. Sleep at least 5 hours. Quality study is more important than the number of hours . Practice DEEP WORK.

RESULTS ARE OUT AND SO IS ‘ANSWER KEYS’!!

I ASSUME YOU HAVE worked hard . Now after giving the exam, you know how it went?

Don’t be afraid to calculate your marks because it really important to know whether you have chance to get a seat.

If you have a chance , well done. And be sure to prepare for the worst. Make plan for alternatives and you are good to go.

IF IT DIDN’T GO WELL

NO FUCKING PROBLEM, MY FRIEND. You don’t need to label yourself as a loser. Its just an exam . You have lot of things which you can try . This doesn’t mean you will remain unemployed .

I see so many dropouts crying . And I say don’t waste time crying , decide what’s next??

WHAT’S NEXT

Now think , what else you can apply for ? What are the courses that you like and just apply . JUST DO IT. Even if its way different from your dropout subject , just apply for it.

I have some friends who took drop for NEET, and now are in NIFT and doing so well.

See do what you like, choose wisely. You next 3/ 4 years shouldn’t be a waste of time like majority of students. OKAY.

Think all the options. You have fucking internet, use it to know all the courses available. And keep in mind the total money of courses and see if your parents have the money.

Don’t do graduation just for getting a degree. You will spent your 3/4/5 years and TIME . By the time you graduate you will be in your 20’s.

20’s is the time when you need to work hard for whatever you want to become like never before.

And when you have spent doing work for your goals during graduation you will shine in your 20’s.

I want you all to learn and grow in next 3/4 years. Research well and apply for the courses. Chose a college and don’t be sad if you are not able to get a top college?? WHY ??? LETS Find out??

WHY COLLEGE DOESN’T MATTER A LOT

A classmate of mine said one day ,”the only difference between IIT’s and our private college(not so famous) is that students of IIT’s get more exposure OF the real world of tech and science”. That’s it.

But THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR since students get more knowledge about the current scenario and can chose and work for their goals.

And this friend of mine is working to get exposure like so many others are. He has a startup , He has passive sources of income ,and always want to learn something .

That’s how you become better than others. By knowing what you want to become, as in this case a ‘successful Entrepreneur’,He attends seminars and reads books.

This is what anyone can do. Easy to say, but few attempt this. SO if you are in not a good college, its your responsibility to work your ass off to achieve your dreams.

But you need to have a dream first. Then learn and grow. As you graduate you will be in a position to apply for any company in your niche. You can also open your own business/startup .

PLACEMENT IN ELITE INSTITUTIONS

Placements in reputed institutions are hyped . its true that placement rates are high in colleges like IIT’S , TOP B-SCHOOLS and NIT’S.

Not all students get a chance to join elite companies. Package is also hyped by media . Though it is great but its still exaggerated. But its still greater than other colleges in India.

Elite colleges provide a better to students. That’s all.

I think you can do better than any student of Elite colleges ,if you are ready to struggle , the way i had described before. Your college doesn’t define you. YOUR DREAMS AND ACTIONS DEFINE YOU. Remember this always.

Work hard in your graduation years and you can send resumes to elite companies. They will hire if you have the potential.

FINAL WORDS FOR CAREER ADVICE TO EVERYONE
