DON’T FOLLOW YOUR PASSION!!!!

don't follow your passion

Has anyone asked you “what is your passion” And you had no ‘EPIC’ answer to flaunt ?? If you don’t know or you don’t follow your passion , its fucking normal !!

I will tell you how and what to do next.

We are advised to find our passion and follow it. Our society sells ‘Follow your passion’ mantra without telling us the complete truth .

I will tell you the difference between following passion and taking your passion with you.

When You glance at those highly ‘successful’ people ,you think , boi, THEY are so fucking passionate about their work. Then you might say

“I will find my passion and I will work my ass off and become successful. “

Lets see why this is not a great idea…

WHY YOU SHOULDN’T ‘FOLLOW’ YOUR PASSION

1 . Your ‘Passion’ doesn’t ‘follow’ the market.

When you are doing something which is not on demand, you won’t become successful.

You need to learn valuable skills which will pay you and help you to solve the pressing problems of ‘NOW’ , not any crappy skill which you admire as your passion.

People make silly excuses saying they can’t learn any other skill to meet the demand of market. These aberrant excuses is what differentiates success and failure.

In order to get success , you need to do things which you hate doing as it is good for you rather than doing things which is easy and you find it interesting i.e ‘passion’ in most cases.

2. You Limit Your Options

When you ‘FOLLOW ‘ your passion, you miss out great opportunities. You don’t capture the galore chances that exist in other places.

You know why Steve Jobs was crawling his hands in calligraphy classes when he was working on making new computers ?

Because he knew just working on your passion isn’t the only work he must be doing.

He knew that to succeed he needs to amass various kinds of skills and to explore other kinds of work .HE knew that to develop creativity ,he needs to engage with lot of ideas.

Ultimately, those calligraphy classes helped Steve to make a computer with the most beautiful typography at that time.

3.Your passion Keeps On Changing!!

Yup. As you age, your interests change.

When you were a beautiful kid, you loved cartoons. And I guess, not many of you watch cartoons anymore.

Now you might be saying, ‘But passion never changes’. Let me tell you Passion is a feeling, not a job.

As you age, you become more associated to some feelings than others. AND sometimes you like opportunities who give you the same feeling but involves skills which are totally different form your previous passion.

4. Being passionate about something doesn’t guarantee success.

A BETTER CAREER ADVICE: TAKE YOUR PASSION WITH YOU , DON’T FOLLOW IT !!

So should you stop working on your passion? Hell No, IF

If your passion is a precious skill, its helps others and you love doing it, then you must work on it . This kind of ‘Passion’ is hard to find. And to find this kind of passion

You need to gulp this line “TAKE YOUR PASSION WITH YOU, DON’T FOLLOW IT”.

DO SOMETHING

Did Bill Gates knew that he loved working with technology ?No, right. He started doing something during his school days.

He tried it and as days passed he felt that working on software and computers was his real passion.\

So you need to emulate Bill Gates. This is the formula:

OPPORTUNITIES ==>OPPORTUNITIES==>…… PASSION(REAL ONE)

Start trying out opportunities which are available. DO SOMETHING.

You never know which opportunity might turn into a valuable skill which will add value value to others life.and hence leading you to success .

I am not saying , do everything, rather I want you try out experiments .. I want you to take advantage of other opportunities , and at the same time you can work on your passion.

Take your passion with you but see where you can learn something new and try it out.

This way you can find the real passion as well.DON’T FOLLOW YOUR PASSION, TAKE IT WITH YOU LIKE YOUR SHADOW.

BBUT IF I DON’T ENJOY DOING SOMETHING, I WON’T LAST LONG!!

We all start with the wrong question, when we are trying out something new, we ask ourselves, ‘do i like this work’?

We feel that ‘we should do work which we like’. Its imperative to do stuff which you love, but most people use it as an excuse to not to try out opportunities and they to give up.

don't follow your passion

Take for example, you join a gym. But you can’t wake up early. You say I don’t love doing it. But you know going to gym will bolster your health.

Instead you should ask yourself “what all new stuff I will learn, will it be valuable? “. This way you ask yourself, “DO I LIKE THE STRUGGLE”?

By questioning this to yourself you reframe your perception. Now you will realize that you will learn a lot and also improve your fitness in gym.

When you will try out new opportunities, you won’t immediately start loving it. It won’t be love in first sight.

HAVE PATIENCE, ASK YOURSELF:”DO I LIKE THE STRUGGLE?”.

SUMMARY :THINGS TO DO TO FIND WORK YOU REALLY LOVE

1.EXPLORE

Imagine , you are in a shop to buy a football. The shopkeeper has only one football. You get confused whether to buy or not.

You go to the 2nd shop, here the shopkeeper has 5 footballs. Now you can differentiate which one is better to buy.

What I am trying to convey is that when you do different kind of work in life , you get to measure what engages you.

WHEN You have a lot of options and experience, you choose the best option

YOU HAVE 1 FUCKING LIFE. LIVE IT FULLY. LEARN AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. AND HELP OTHERS.

2.DEVELOP VALUABLE SKILLS

Develop skills ,which are in demand. Make no excuses. Just do it.

3. SOLVE PROBLEMS AND ADD VALUE TO OTHERS LIFE.

Use your skills to detect and discern the pressing problems.Make a team and work passionately.
